Sara LeMesh

Soprano Sara LeMesh, hailed by Opera News for her "mesmerizing...urgent, tonally secure and affectingly plangent” singing, is a dramatic presence on the opera stage, an avid chamber musician, and an advocate of contemporary music. She recently delivered a "powerhouse performance" (San Francisco Chronicle) as Bess McNeill in the West Coast premiere of Missy Mazzoli and Royce Vavrek's opera, Breaking The Waves, with West Edge Opera. The 2020 season marks several company debuts for Ms. LeMesh, including Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Pocket Opera and Lucy Brown in The Threepenny Opera with City Lyric Opera. Ms. LeMesh was one of four participants selected to participate in the Joyce DiDonato Master Classes at Carnegie Hall which were canceled (COVID-19). The soprano also recently premiered a music video with her piano-vocal duo, Chordless, which was lauded by the San Francisco Classical Voice for "providing a futuristic model for classical music." Most recently, Ms. LeMesh was awarded a grant from Catapult Opera's Accelerate Competition to produce a film set to music from David Hertzberg's opera The Wake World.
