Jason has sung/recorded with multiple GRAMMY-winning/nominated choirs and orchestras and his voice is featured in Last Week Tonight's EMMY-nominated Eat Shit Bob: The Musical. His compositions/orchestrations have been performed by members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and various Broadway pit orchestras. He has music directed new musicals at The Met Cloisters, Goodman Theatre, and Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.

Biography

Jason Weisinger

As a music director, Jason has supervised various new musicals at The Met Cloisters, The Goodman Theatre, The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, and Pace New Musicals for artists such as Kate Douglas & Shayfer James, Jae Broderick, Dianne Nora & Emily Gardner Xu Hall, and Eric Sorrels & Cheeyang Ng. Jason’s orchestrations have been performed by members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, GRAMMY-winning ensemble The Crossing, and various Broadway pit orchestras. His work is featured on the podcast [insert movie here]: The Musical!, available on iTunes and Spotify. As a composer, Jason has workshopped two musicals in the BMI Workshop (Brazil and Operation Migration); both collaborations with writer Kate Douglas. His setting of ee cummings’ i carry your heart received 2nd-place at the 2016 Sparks & Wiry Cries NYC songSLAM and is published in the Sparks & Wiry Cries songSLAM Songbook: Vol 1. Jason has sung on stage with luminaries such as Andy Einhorn, Stephanie Blythe, Donald Nally, Dawn Upshaw, and Mark Morris. He has performed with many esteemed ensembles including The Boston POPS, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, American Classical Orchestra, The Crossing, and Choir of Trinity Wall Street. His voice also appears on Last Week Tonight’s EMMY-nominated song Eat Shit Bob: The Musical as well as The Crossing’s 2019 GRAMMY-nominated album The Arc in the Sky. Jason has taught at The New School - Mannes Opera, The Neighborhood Playhouse, and the University of Cincinnati - CCM.
