MEZZO-SOPRANO SHANNON KEEGAN is quickly making a name for herself as one of opera’s most genuine and giving performers. Committed to interpretive excellence, Ms. Keegan marries unshakable vocal technique and dramatic skill to deliver compelling performances across genres. Recently, Ms. Keegan’s won her district of The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and will move on to the Southeast Region. Additionally, Ms. Keegan won second place in The National Opera Association’s Carolyn Bailey and Dominick Argento Vocal Competition with a program consisting of arias by Chabrier, Bolcom, and Händel. BEGINNING IN THE SUMMER OF 2021, Ms. Keegan will join NetWorks Theatrical Production Company's International Touring Cast of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music to cover the Mother Abbess. Ms. Keegan will tour with the company through China, Malaysia, Singapore, and India. ​ MS. KEEGAN WILL GRADUATE from Rice University- Shepherd School of Music with her master’s degree in May of 2021. Challenged to innovate by the pandemic, Rice Opera made the decision to go fully virtual and present two recorded operas for their 2020/2021 season. Ms. Keegan was featured in Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis as Der Trommler under the guidance of Patrick Diamond, Miah Im and Maestro Jerry Hou. Ms. Keegan was also seen as Annio in "La Clemenza di Tito" during Rice Opera's 2019/2020 Season.
